DDP 6th National Annual Government Conference - 14 & 15 October 2010

PROVINCIAL GOVERNANCE AND DEVELOPMENT IN SOUTH AFRICA POST 1994: QUO VADIS?

 

The Democracy Development Programme is hosting its 6th Annual Conference on the 14-15 October 2010 at the Southern Sun, Elangeni in Durban.

The conference will look critically at the performance of Provincial Government in terms of fulfilling its constitutional responsibility as well as in terms of its record of governance since 1994.

The conference will focus on the following thematic areas: 

  • Provincial Governance and Development: Review of the African and South African Experience
  • Provincial Policymaking and Public Participation
  • Role and Impact of National Council of Provinces
  • Intergovernmental Relations in a Provincial Context
  • Provincial Economic Development and Planning
  • Public Accountability, Monitoring and Evaluation at Provincial Level
